I.D. Systems Receives Additional Orders from U.S. Postal Service for Wireless Vehicle Management Systems
HACKENSACK, N.J., July 5 -- I.D. Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: IDSY) today announced that it has received orders from the United
States Postal Service (USPS) to deploy the company's Wireless Asset Net(TM)
powered industrial vehicle management system at 12 additional USPS
facilities. These orders increase the number of USPS facilities deploying
the Wireless Asset Net to 56. Under the terms of the USPS' three-year
national contract with I.D. Systems, up to 460 USPS facilities can order
the Wireless Asset Net system.
"We continue to work very closely with the Postal Service to further
expand their deployment of our wireless systems and help them generate
substantial economic benefits through improved control over and analysis of
their powered industrial vehicle operations," said Rick Muntz, I.D.
Systems' executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer
satisfaction. "We are proud of the mutual commitment we share with the USPS
toward achieving these goals."
The Wireless Asset Net consists of intelligent wireless devices
(Vehicle Asset Communicators(R)) installed on powered industrial vehicles
(such as fork trucks and pallet movers), a patented communication
infrastructure, and client-server software for access control, utilization
analysis, real-time location tracking, and many other functions. The system
is designed to improve industrial workplace safety and security by
restricting vehicle access to trained, authorized operators and by
providing electronic safety inspection checklists. The system is designed
to reduce maintenance expenses by automatically uploading vehicle data,
reporting vehicle problems in real time, giving management the option of
scheduling maintenance according to actual vehicle usage rather than on a
calendar basis, and helping plant management determine the optimal economic
time to replace equipment. The system is also designed to help improve
productivity by ensuring equipment is in the proper place at the right time
and by providing management with unique reports on vehicle utilization.

VIN Number: Warm Weather Months Tempt Car Thieves, H.E.A.T. Releases Safety Tips
Warm Weather Months Tempt Car Thieves, H.E.A.T. Releases Safety Tips
LIVONIA, Mich., June 26 -- H.E.A.T. (Help Eliminate Auto
Thefts) warns that warm weather in summer months can lead to carelessness
among car owners, providing thieves with easy access to personal property
and vehicles. According to the 2006 FBI Uniform Crime Report, motor vehicle
theft is consistently highest in July and August.
"As warm weather sets in, people tend to relax their guard by leaving
car tops and windows down when they leave their vehicles," said Terri
Miller, director of H.E.A.T. "This makes it easy for thieves to steal
exposed property like purses, laptops and cell phones -- not to mention the
vehicle itself."
"Always keep a watchful eye on your property, especially in the
summer," said Lt. John Michalke of the Macomb Auto Theft Squad. "Just as
you lock your front door before leaving your house, be sure to secure all
car doors before stepping away from your vehicle, even when running a quick
errand."
Tips on keeping your car and belongings safe during warm weather:
* Closed Not Cracked - Close windows tightly, don't even leave them
"cracked" and always lock your car when your vehicle is unattended.
* Out of Sight - Keep all personal belongings, including iPods, cell
phones and other valuables out of sight.
* Lock Your Top - Close and lock convertible car tops.
* Kill-Switch - Protect your vehicle from being started by a thief by
having a mechanic install a concealed kill-switch.
* Double Duty - Add a second layer of protection to your vehicle by using
a steering wheel locking device, a steering column protector or an
alarm with a visible flasher.
* VIN - Consider etching your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) onto
the glass surfaces of your vehicle. VIN etching makes vehicles less
attractive to thieves because all windows must be replaced before the
car is tagged with a fake VIN for resale.

VIN Number: Vin Number Car Scam Searched by Investigator
State regulators are looking for a Salt Lake County man suspected of scamming car buyers. Investigators with the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division are looking for 42-year old Larry Simper. Officers were searching for stolen cars early this morning and found these three high-end cars at one apartment complex. Investigators believe the cars figured in an elebaorate scheme in which a con artist takes the vehicle identification number from junked cars, then puts them on stolen cars, and sells them.
